RLC 2027s Win Second Consecutive Fall Tournament

Although the Rise LC 2027s had won their first fall tournament last week in Maryland, sitting on the sideline 1-and-1 after a tough 11-4 defeat to Team 91 Tristate Select from lacrosse hotbed Westchester County, New York, it didn’t seem like the day was going their way. The boys snacked, rehydrated, played video games and enjoyed each other’s company as Team 91 took on True Philly Black, RLC’s second opponent.

Something changed in that hangout time. Having left the field dejected after the first-game defeat, the Rise boys watched True Philly go toe-to-toe with Team 91, putting a scare in the Westchester boys and making them look beatable. Team 91 eked out a one-goal win, and an hour later the Rise LC 27s took down Philly 10-8. All of a sudden, there was nothing to do but avenge the earlier embarrassment.

Tied 2-2 at halftime of the final, there was no doubt Rise could win the game. The second half ended 4-4, and overtime began with Team 91 on a man advantage. Two saves by Roen Bagley (Conestoga Valley) and a tipped pass by Sulli Porinchak (Warwick) led to a clear by Caleb Rice (Ephrata). Team 91 killed a Rise LC man-up and saved a shot from Caedon Ulrich (Conestoga Valley), leading to one last defensive stand.

LSM Graham Williams (Penn Manor) emerged from a wicked groundball scrum trailed by two angry New Yorkers, throwing forward to Ulrich who swept his man, evaded a slide, and stung off-stick high to end the second overtime and claim the top spot in Trilogy’s Veterans Day Classic 2027 A division.

Joining Bagley, Rice, Porinchak, and Williams on defense were goalkeeper Beau Radzievicz (Manheim Township), defenders Brady Winters (Warwick), Ryan Barrow (Warwick), Gavin Odom (Exeter), and LSM Kyto Anderson (Manheim Township). Anderson and Kyle Sensenig (Cocalico) shared the faceoff draws. Joining Ulrich on offense were Tyler Thomas (Ephrata), Tanner Hartranft (Cocalico), CJ Adams (Manheim Township), Coleman Metcalf (Hershey), Grant Reesor (Cedar Crest), Sam Johnson (Exeter), and Grayson Suydam (Penn Manor).
